Collin County High Point Trip Report
Date: November 9, 2002
Authors: Scott Surgent and Bob Martin
This involves a visit with friendly people at an up-scale residence with accompanying horse facilities,
in the rural area north of Dallas. Drive to the junction of US289 and FM455 on the east side of Celina.
Take FM455 a couple of miles east, jogging right, left, and left again. Where FM455 makes a sharp right and
goes east, continue north about 3/4 mile to the entrance to a nice home on the right. The 2 hp areas are on
this property.
We stopped at the home and spoke to a friendly lady, explained our purpose, and were told to feel free to
walk around the property. The western hp area is in the grounds around the house. We walked the road east,
waved to a man in a truck, and spoke to a fellow exercising a horse. The eastern hp area was found
near some hay bales and south of a plowed area to the right of some buildings.
On our return, we met a friendly man who appeared to be in charge of the facility.
We engaged in a long conversation, enjoyable but a delay in our trip.
