Crockett County Highpoint Trip Report

I drove south on TX 349 from Rankin and took RD 200, which had unlocked gate and is about 1/2 mile north of Upton-Crockett line, west about 4.8 miles through the Crockett Oil Field to a point below the Southwest Mesa cliff near where map says "Drill Hole".

Climbed west up the cliff and walked on wind farm roads to the HP at (31° 4.254' N, 102° 5.916' W). Two guys in a service truck stopped by me and asked if I was OK. Didn't seem to bother them that I was there but they did say that the area was posted at the locked gate by which they had access via service roads.

500 feet elevation gain.
