Lee County High Point Trip Report
Yegua Knobs - 2 knobs (760+ ft)
Date: April 16, 2002

Drive to The Knobs. From FM696 between Butler and Lexington, 3 miles east of FM619, take CR 305
south at the large sign to Springs Baptist Church. From there, drive a mile east on CR311 and a mile south
on CR307 to Sanders Cemetery. Drive just south to the house on the right.
Request permission. Here the man said that I could drive west over the dam to the edge of the forest.
This is just 0.3 mile. He said that his land extends almost to the knobs but that the owner
beyond hasn't minded hikers.
The hike to the northern knob follows an old track up through the forest, across open land, and then climbs
very steeply through thick vegetation to the top. The forest cover is too thick to level with the next knob south.
For that one, cross the fence back to the east, hike south and then west through pasture to the more open knob.
The level will tell you that that one is higher than any to the south.
