Leon County High Point Trip Report
Date: January 20, 2003
Author: Bill Jacobs
As noted in the previous report, all 620-foot contours are possible candidates for the county high point.
One is a short distance from the 630-foot contour and was previously reached. Dave Olson has since found another,
which subsequently examined as described below. I also went to the Sam Houston University
Library in Huntsville and looked at most of Leon's quads (those that were not missing) but found no other
620-foot contours. The county still deserves a more thorough map search to exhaust the chance there is
another lonely 620-foot contour somewhere out there - a project I hope to get to some day.
From Robbins, head west for 0.4 mile on H7. Turn right (north) on County Road 392 for 0.7 mile.
High area is to the right through a fence and up the hill (with permission, of course).
