After completing the Crosby County highpoint (see report), return to car and go back to county line road. Go W on this road, then N on FM 789 just inside Lubbock County. About 2-3 miles N, reach the town of Petersburg. Turn L (W) on FM 54. Take this road about 30 miles west, past I-27, reaching JCT FM 179 South. Turn left (S) on FM, go 3.5 miles to JCT FM 597. Turn right (W) on FM 597, go 3 miles. Where FM 597 turns south sharply, stay straight on dirt road. This road dead-ends at another section-line road a few hundred feet beyond FM 597. Park by the intersection of the two dirt roads. The 4-county corner monument is in a ditch on the east side of the N-S section-line road, about 100 feet north of the dirt road intersection. With the roads in the vicinity and fields around, the actual natural HP is long-gone, but with this flat country, it was probably at the corner. I gridded the immediate area to be sure.
