Polk County High Point Trip Report

Polk and Liberty Counties are both within easy drives of Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
From Moscow, TX on Highway 59, a two hour drive north of Houston, proceed east 6.0 miles to Camden.
At the paper mill (International Paper?) turn right for three miles to Barnes following H942. The turn at
the paper mill is confusing and may appear initially as if you are entering the mill's grounds. At Barnes
turn right onto H1745. At 1.8 miles turn left onto Wm. Hood Rd. Continue along this dirt road for 5.5
miles to the highpoint located to the left in a field with thick underbrush.
A topo map would be helpful for ensuring the correct field is found and can be pulled up from Topozone
using a map target of 30.8602N, 94.6405W.
An alternative access from H59 would be to follow H942 from Leggett for about 15.6 miles to Wm Hood Rd.
