Beaver County High Point Trip Report
Delano Peak
Date: June 8, 2000
Author: Scott Casterlin
Started at 4:15pm and still made it back before dark, albeit having daylight-savings-time and a June date
helped a lot. Nothing much to say but to use the excellent "High In Utah" book during your hike.
One problem I encountered: the nearby ski area appeared to be clearing some timber in the area about a mile
from the car. Thus, the main trail was obliterated for about 200', completely covered by large downfall.
I don't know if the trail has been, or will be, restored, but check with the Forest Service in Beaver for an update.
Stay high if you encounter the downfall on your way up, persevere through the timber, and you'll
find the trail "straight ahead" after a while. Otherwise, it's a typically spectacular Utah hike.
