Salt Lake County Highpoint Trip Report

We drove up Little Cottonwood Canyon to the Snowbird area. We used the Aerial Tram to Hidden Peak at
11,000+ feet, dropped down to the 10,830-foot saddle to the south and gained the main ridge heading south
to Peak 11,433 (East Twin). A sharp turn west and a stiff climb brought us to the American Forks Twin
Peak at 11,489 feet the highest point in Salt Lake county, UT.
Although everything was white wherever we looked, in reality Utah became green this morning for me.
We returned the same way in a blustery storm,
following our uphill tracks when visibility dropped to 50 feet or less.
The warming hut and its hot coffee were our just reward for the climb.
