Tooele County High Point Trip Report
Deseret Peak (11,031 ft)
Date: August 17, 1999
Author: Andy Martin
We stayed at the $6 campground at the end of the South Willow Canyon road.
The deer are pretty tame here. Next morning we made good (for me) time to the top,
going up the Mill Fork. There are great views from the top, where we could see
60 miles in all directions. On a very clear day you would see further,
but the air seemed a bit hazy on all our UT summits. The summit BM was gone,
though we easily found 2 nearby witness BM.
I returned by Mill Fork, but Guy made a loop hike by heading north to pass 9669,
and then following a steep use route down to the east. He was waiting for me
when I got back to the Mitsi at 1PM.
