Tooele County High Point Trip Report
Deseret Peak
Date: September 9, 2000
Author: Sowby Summit Team
Deseret Peak is about 20 miles West of Tooele in the Stansbury Range. The hike was 4+ miles each way.
It was a good hike except for the last 30 minutes to the top because it was so windy and cold. The cold wind
came from the west after crossing 300 miles of desert and the mountain was the first thing the wind encountered.
But we survived :)
It was beautiful with a variation of cliffs, meadows, rocks, and dark pine forests.
