Loudon County Highpoint Trip Report

Dale Millsap's directions are still good. I believe there are more roads and
driveways in the area now so, at about 2.8 miles north of US 17/50, the gated
road mentioned by Dale is the last road or driveway before the tower and is
identifiable by fancy iron work and two large stone posts. I verified that the
driveway leads to the house (#20962) at the highpoints. The house has been
completely gutted, and was under major reconstruction during my visit.
Don't know if it's going to be a permanent residence or a weekend/summer retreat.
My recommendation is to park at the tower, which is only 0.12 mile from the
nearer of the two areas, and walk uphill around the left side of the towers
through fairly open woods. You will very quickly intersect the driveway and a
short walk to your left will take you past the northern area, off to the right
of the road on an obvious bump. GPS verified the location. The southern area
seemed considerably higher and was at some exposed rock to the right of the
house. Hard to say if the rocks had been disturbed. These areas are also two
of the four Clark County highpoints.
