Prince William County High Point Trip Report
Bull Run Mountains - BM Jackson (1,279 ft)

Carefully follow Mike Schwartz's directions. After carefully reading Dan Case's route, I'm pretty sure he
was on the south side of the towers. Perhaps access could be gained from there, but it is certainly easier
from the north. There is a good place to pull off the road across from the second house down (near a sign
that says no trespassing). The road goes up a few hundred feet further, through the gate, and the highpoint
is the top of a rock formation behind one of the towers.
On my way out, I met the resident of the second house down. He was very friendly, as were his two dogs,
and he showed me a benchmark near one of the lower towers (it was not a USGS benchmark.) He says the
county line runs down the middle of the road, and the backside of the mountain is owned by a coalition of
rich folks in Fauquier County who don't want anyone looking down on their places. I came out via Gore Road,
and I found it to be a little less wash boarded than Mountain Road. The map on Topozone is very accurate,
except take note that Ridge Road is closed from the towers south.
