Scott County Highpoint Trip Report

I decided to take the back way to work to both summit the roof of Scott County and see if SR 619, up the back side of High Knob, is paved. (Up on High Knob Mountain are entrances to the Omega System, the deepest cave east of the Mississippi.) I discovered 619 is not paved between Ka and the Scott/Wise county line. About a mile before the turnoff to High Knob the pavement ends, the area of the Scott county HP. Off to the east, about 50 yards, is a cairn. I'm not sure where the HP is, somewhere along the county line between the cairn and the road, maybe a little south of this.
