Addison County Highpoint Trip Report
Mount Abraham
Date: June 30, 2004
Author: Mike Schwartz
We used Fred Lobdell's excellent report and hiked the ridge one-way from south to north, using a car shuttle.
We strongly recommend going south to north, saving the steep descent into Appalachian Gap for last.
Mount Abraham was well-marked and obvious but Mount Ellen had only the remnant support for a
former signpost at its wooded summit. Just a few yards north of (?) is a large, cleared area at the top of one of
the many ski lifts in the area, which makes a very comfortable place to have lunch and admire the view.
