Grand Isle County Highpoint Trip Report

The problem with this one was that I stayed in Burlington and couldn't get there
too early. So I had a nice breakfast and got there at a reasonable hour. As I
am coming through South Hero, I realize I hadn't given the directions the care
they deserve, so I pulled off on US 2 to figure out where I needed to go.
Eventually I look up and discover I'm sitting next to the sign for Tracy Road.
Fortunately, there was nobody else in the car to note my embarrassment.
Mike's directions will get you there. The folks at Snowfarm were nice and
wished me well. Followed my nose to the top.
For the Grand Isle point, continue north on US 2 to the town of Grand Isle
("Beauty Spot of Vermont"). At the blinking light in town, turn right (east)
onto East Shore Drive. Follow this for 1.1 miles and turn left (OK, straight-ish)
onto dirt Lovers Lane Road. About 1/2 mile up just before the crest of the
road there was an overgrown dirt road where I parked. Walked through the open
woods to the higher area. This place is flattish, so a good-faith effort is required.
The trillium was blooming!!
