Grand Isle County Highpoint Trip Report

This effort was part of a larger journey to complete Vermont and reach the Ontario province highpoint in October 2011.

A path begins at the grass/forest interface roughly 100 yards north of the winery main building at (44.62790° N; 73.33400° W). To get there, receive permission and go behind the building to pass under the obvious wooden archway.

From this location an aged jeep track, overgrown, leads directly to the highest ground at (44.63080° N; 73.33294° W).

I followed this track on-descent. For the ascent I bushwhacked through forest, passing through a maple syrup gathering area with many horizontal pipes that one is obliged to walk underneath. That hassle is readily avoided with the aforementioned path.
