Grant County High Point Trip Report
Ulysses S. Hill (2,899 ft)
Date: October 2, 2001
Author: Trapper Robbins
From Route 28 just east of Quincy, we drove north on "P" northwest across Beezley Hills (Monument Hill)
via mostly gravel roads P, L, 19, M, and 20NW. It was 15.6 miles from Rte. 28 to our parking spot where
20 NW and Overen Road join near the power lines.
If you are coming from Ephrata, get on paved Sagebrush Flat Road heading northwest. Then use J NW and
20NW to get to the beginning of the walk.
Good news: The cohp property is private but is part of the Washington Fish & Wildlife Upland Restoration
program so "walk-in hunting" is allowed. Park at the gate just east of the power lines where you see the
various Fish & Wildlife signs. Walk due west over point 2885 (marked DEVIL on the map) and on to cohp
point 2899. Pleasant sage and grass land. Dirt tracks come and go - use them as appropriate.
Round trip: 2.6 miles, 400 feet gain.
