I headed East to Snoqualmie Pass and the Cle Elum Roadhead. There was snow above so I took my ice axe
heading to Peggy's Pond. From there it was just a slog up a small glacier to Peak 7,662 and then
north up the ridge to Mount Daniel (Daniels BM). It was good to get back to a peak with some elevation.
It was a beautiful, sunshiny day and the views were breathtaking, especially south to Mount Rainier. That
mountain sure takes up a lot of skyline. Looking over the lip to the north was a spectacular glacier with a
gaping bergschrund. I wouldn't want to come up that way. I spent the night at the Cle Elum River
campground.
