Big Horn

We tent camped at By Pass Camp the first night, hiking in after dark, meeting firefighters coming out. They had put out a small fire somewhere up in there.

I found the final 10-12 foot 5th class pitch trivial, with a belay from above, of course. What REALLY scared me was the junky, loose rock on the lower parts of the 3rd class climbing. It's not talus, but poorly consolidated and even a very careful person will start down rocks on companions below. Hard hats recommended.

We did it from Cispus Pass. There are faint goat trails to follow, even high up. Very scenic area.
