Pacific County High Point Trip Report
Date: December 6, 2000
Author: Trapper Robbins
We took the route that starts on the Weyerhaeuser A-Line road; the A-Line leaves the S side of Highway 6
about 5 miles W of Pe Ell, WA. This 9-mile route is direct and the main gate is signed as being open to
the public through 12/31/00. Again, detailed maps showing the network of logging roads is strongly advised.
Note that road #1000 south of Pe Ell is currently gated due to logging operations in the Chehalis River
drainage. This renders the Thrash Creek route referred to in John Roper's 1994 report inconvenient.
We got a great 4-volcano view (Hood, St Helens, Adams, Rainier). We found the summit register hidden
in a stump under a small cairn; we were the fourth entry (since 1995).
