Wahkiakum County High Point Trip Report

We drove up road 710 to where it was gated. After five miles, we made the Hp, snapped a few pictures and
hiked the 5 miles back to the gate.
The lower gate will only be open a short while longer as it is open now for hunting season. When hunting
season ends, you will have a 22-mile round-trip effort in order to do this one. This was my third try as the
first time I found the lower road gated and the 2nd time, just last week, I ran into too much snow that
stopped me well short of the upper gate mentioned above. So it was sweet to get the last of the logging
counties of Oregon and Washington done(for me anyway). Lots of hunters all over the area, be sure and
wear some orange.
