Portage County High Point Trip Report

On page 53 of the Wisconsin Delorme, find the junction of 5th Avenue and WI EE. Hit the odometer and head east. After going 0.9 mile you'll pass 6th Street on your left and immediately after, at mile 1, you'll come to a driveway on your right marked 8421 Fifth.

We turned up the extended driveway and drove a bit until we we're met by a loud, barking dog, followed by a younger son (?) of the log home residence. He gave us permission to park by a huge, wooden garage and access the HP.

From the driveway we set out southwest across there lawn to where it was bordered by trees/brush and continued southwest in the direction of the HP. The terrain was brushy but easy to maneuver through. About 10-15 minutes from where we parked we got to the HP. Appears to be recently cleared/logged and piles of logs were around. HP is in a very unkempt part of the summit. HP spot obvious and a No Trespassing sign with the name of Joe Zei close to the top. Permission needed on this one.
