Sauk County High Point Trip Report
Sauk Point (BM 1,593 ft) and one area (1,580+ ft)
Date: July 30, 2003
Authors: Trapper Robbins and Roxanne Everett
As with previous reports, no one was home at the building near the tower but it
appeared occupied (open windows, mowed lawn, etc...).
Found BM and explored other area, too.
Additionally, we explored a different approach that seems to offer public access.
If you continue west on Tower Drive 0.2 mile from the High Point Drive turnoff,
there is a small unobtrusive yellow sign on the south side of the road that says,
STATE PARK, WILDLIFE REFUGE. No hunting or trapping.
We pulled off on the side of Tower Road and bushwhacked into the CoHP area
(some dense stuff depending on your route).
Round trip from the road to the COHP area is
approximately 3/4 mile by this route.
