Parnell Observation Tower (1,312 ft)

This almost-gimme is located in Kettle Moraine State Forest, so you need to buy a park pass to hike it ($5 - $10 for a day, but it's good for as many parks as you can visit). One place to buy it is the Ice Age Visitor Center east of US-45 off WI-67, where you can also get free maps of the Forest and the Ice Age Trail. The parking lot for Parnell Observation Tower is located just east of the crest on County-U (go east on WI-67 maybe 8 miles from the Visitor Center, then maybe 3 miles east on County-U).

Walk 0.2 mile up a wide trail with log steps to wooden lookout tower which seems to cover the high point. Tower has spotting scope to points of interest but most distant ones weren't visible in haze the day I was there.
