Jefferson County Highpoint Trip Report
Date: August 2, 2005
Author: Scott Surgent
Came in from the north, previous reports are still valid. Came upon group of kids
(ages about 9-13), one of whom had been stung a few times by a small swarm of bees.
Their 'leaders' were a bit behind. She was okay -- no allergic reactions
but we stayed with her to be sure. Once satisfied, we ambled on to the HP,
finding it along a ridge top per Don Desrosier's report.
Came upon a eastern diamondback (?) (!). Very brushy, spent much time assuring
that the brush wasn't full o' snakes. GPS'd area to be sure, visited all
potential rock piles.
