Pendleton County Highpoint Trip Report

Spruce Knob

Date: September 10, 2007

other participants: Patrick Johnston, Darren Shoemaker, Ryan Shoemaker and Casie Shoemaker

Drove up to this one from Shenendoah on a pretty morning. The sky was clear, bright blue with just a few fluffy clouds which made for some great views going up the mountain. Only passed a couple of cars which was nice since the road was a little tight. We were surprised that it was paved most of the way.

Spent a couple of hours at the top having a picnic lunch and walking the little half-mile trail around the summit. This was one of the prettier high points we’ve done. A storm was brewing as we finished lunch and we had some very heavy rain for our drive back to Shenandoah.
