Tucker County Highpoint Trip Report

Although I didn't realize this at the time, my boneheadedness means that I can't claim this county. This reinforces that careful planning is sometimes necessary for even the simplest counties.

I hiked the ski lift up with my dog, a good workout on steep terrain. However, once I reached the top I failed to heed the trip reports. I stepped on some high ground near the woods edge and – seeing no obvious higher ground – called it good. Only upon my return home and rereading old reports did I realize I didn't follow the pipe line route to the summit. This is a shame, as this is one of the Eastern highest 50 points and it's not close to my home so I don't know when I'll be able to return.
