Carbon County High Point Trip Report
unnamed point on ridge 0.3 mile southwest of Medicine Bow Peak (11,920- ft)
Date: August 4, 2002
Author: Michael Schwartz
See my Albany County report for route to Medicine Bow Peak summit. From the summit, follow a good
trail southwest around the north side of the prominent bump. The trail curls back south, closer to the sharp drop-off,
and when it gets closest to the edge, bushwhack/rock hop directly toward the edge. Look for the
subtle ridge line as it descends from the 10,960+ foot bump, fairly close to the edge. If you work along high ground,
both cairns will come into view. The more southerly of the two has a plastic baggie with register.
Round trip from the Medicine Bow Peak summit took 35 minutes.
