On hold

Rob reported last night at 8:20 pm Denali time that TZT did not make the move to 17,200 ft due to forecasted winds of between 30 and 50 mph... opting instead to stay put and build snow walls against the impending blow. With temps in the high teens it was obvious that fine, June Colorado weather is on the minds of the team members. “But it’s warm in the tent”  he adds.

Entertainment for the climbers based at 14,200 ft was provided by a group who were planning on skiing down the headwall. As Rob called, folks were starting to gather outside their tents to witness the exhibition. They also noted that haze and the smell of forest fires around Talkeetna had wafted up to the team’s high perch.

TZT will remain on hold at 14,200 ft. until the weather becomes favorable.
